About Scratby

Scratby is a lovely little village right on the coast, you can take a walk along the promenade, ( an electric wheelchair is recommended for the promenade) you maybe lucky enough to spot a seal or two. There is a lovely grass area where you can have a picnic over looking the beach.

It is 5 miles to Great Yarmouth seafront which is very flat, and has everything you would find at a typical British seaside resort. It is only a 20 minute drive to the beautiful Norfolk Broads where there are wheelchair accessible boats available for hire. Close by you have Lowestoft, Gorleston, Hemsby, and for a trip to the city you have Norwich a 30 minute drive away with various attractions,

HOSPITAL
The nearest hospital is the James Paget Hospital. This is about a 20 min drive away. There is a 24 hour emergency department at this hospital.

PHARMACY
The nearest pharmacy is located in Caister on sea. You will find plenty of pharmacies in Great Yarmouth too. Asda in Great Yarmouth also has a pharmacy that is open 7 days a week. During store opening times. Boots at Gapton hall retail park run a late night pharmacy.

In Scratby you will find a few convenience stores and post office, a chip shop, bars, a bakery, an arcade ,a Chinese takeaway, the California Tavern pub ( carvery on Sundays and meals), Dutchys Tavern Bingo and entertainment (wheelchair accessible), cafes and tearoom.
